The Theatre Arts Associate of Arts Transfer Degree focuses on script analysis and the skills required to translate the script to the stage. The degree prepares students with both the theory and practical experience necessary for either employment in beginning levels of professional theatre or transfer to a theatre arts major in a four-year institution. Various productions are offered to provide student with a broad range of practical training. The Associate in Arts in Theatre Arts for Transfer is designed to provide students a clear transfer pathway to the CSU within a theatre arts major and the completion of baccalaureate degree, with guaranteed admission to a CSU to a similar major with junior standing, and the ability to complete their remaining requirements within 60 semester or 90 quarter units. Additionally, the Theatre Arts A.A.-T focuses on providing job-related and introduction to the various career pathways within this field. The theatre arts field includes disciplines such as actor, designer, director, technician, Stage Manager, and educators.
To earn this degree complete the major coursework listed here with “C” grades or higher and the following graduation requirements:
- 60 CSU transferable units;
- the Cal-GETC pattern; and
- 2.0 minimum overall CSU GPA.
