The Emergency Medical Certificate discipline is a repository of vital training programs such as American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Saver, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS). Tailored for healthcare professionals, first responders, and individuals committed to effective emergency response, this discipline provides learners the opportunity to develop a comprehensive lifesaving skill set. Participants, including those who are not first responders, will gain proficiency in CPR, first aid, advanced cardiac and pediatric life support, and trauma care. The discipline ensures learners gain a practical understanding of life-saving techniques for everyday scenarios, empowering participants to respond confidently in emergencies. Upon successful completion of each VVC EMC training program, individuals receive American Heart Association certification valid for 2 years.

The American Heart Association's Heartsaver courses are designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs first aid and/or CPR training and a course completion card for job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or other requirements. Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED provides students with the highest quality training in the lifesaving skills of first aid, CPR, and the use of an AED. This course empowers students to act with confidence in the event of an emergency at work, at home, or in the community. Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED Online course is taught in a blended learning format. Students must complete the online portion, followed by the hands-on skills session conducted by an American Heart Association Training Center Instructor. Students who successfully complete the online course and skills session will receive a Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Course Completion card, valid for two years.
