Victor Valley College’s CDL training program prepares students to become professional drivers of commercial vehicles through hands-on instruction and classroom-based learning aligned with federal and state safety standards.
Commercial Motor Vehicle operators play a critical role in transporting goods and passengers across the country. To operate these vehicles, individuals must obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), which involves passing both written knowledge and behind-the-wheel skills tests. In addition to the core CDL, certain vehicles or job functions may require additional endorsements, such as hazardous materials, passenger, doubles/triples, or air brakes.
The program covers essential topics such as vehicle inspection, safety procedures, cargo handling, and preparation for the Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) exam. Students also receive training aligned with Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) standards and Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug/alcohol testing regulations.
