It is the mission of the Emergency Telecommunications program at Victor Valley College to provide high-quality, comprehensive training to prepare students for a rewarding and essential career in public safety dispatch.
In collaboration with industry professionals and public safety agencies, the program continuously refines its curriculum to reflect current standards and the evolving demands of the 911 system. Emphasis is placed on providing students with the foundational knowledge and practical skills needed to support police, fire, and emergency medical services.
Students will be trained in the operational structure of emergency communications, the role of the dispatcher, call interrogation techniques, call management, and strategies for managing stress in high-pressure environments. The program also provides instruction in police, fire, and EMS operations to ensure graduates are well-prepared to serve as the first, first responders in their communities.
